Book Review - Toute Allure

Ok I am a book worm, I admit it - I love to be sitting quietly by myself with no commitments and a great read in my hands, plunger coffee on the little table beside my 'reading chair' - bliss!!

I have read a few books on France. That sentance would probably qualify as an understatement... I have read many!

This one is called Toute Allure and its by Karen Wheeler - just looked her up on site and she is young, pretty and blonde - certainly not the 40 year old she describes herself as but then she also previously worked as a makeup reviewer for a top London magazine so maybe those magic creams do work..

I loved the book, its a bit of a light romp based on her life after making the decision to move to France. Its the second in her series (first one was about her original decision to move to France solo, renovate a village house and not find love - a refreshing change).

This one has the house all finished, and Karen with time on her hands - she works when she can, takes up line dancing (I know!!) in order to meet the locals and adopts/ steals a gorgeous little dog called Biff who provides all the affection she needs. Life is pretty damn good until a Portugese building company take over the house next door to hers to base their building crew in for the next 2 years.
OK its not nobel prize writing but I really enjoyed the descriptions and life challenges she had - good reading!
